Terminal 1 and Terminal 5 Arrivals Are Impacted by Major Construction

Below you will find information on how the construction will affect your travel when you arrive at JFK.

We expect there will be continuous changes and will update this information as it becomes available.

Terminal 5 Construction Impacts

This month, the Terminal 5 recirculation road was permanently closed.

Throughout the summer, there will be several roadway shifts to accommodate construction at the adjacent Terminal 6.

On June 6th, 2023, FHV pickups will move to the Orange Garage roof, from its current location outside Terminal 5.

ADA customer pickup will remain at Terminal 5 and the location for drop-offs will also not change.

Customers will access the Orange Garage for FHV pickups via the AirTrain from T5 to T7 with an estimated travel time of 15 minutes.

The Orange Garage will have a dedicated FHV driver entrance and there will be no charge for FHV drivers to enter or exit the garage.

Terminal 1 Construction Impacts

In mid to late June 2023, a remote FHV lot will be opened. The hours of operation are still being developed, and as with Terminal 5, drop-offs will not be affected.

The remote FHV lot is located just south of the JFK West Cell Phone Lot. Customers will be provided with a free shuttle bus from Terminal 1 to the remote FHV lot.

The estimated travel time is 15 minutes, including boarding.

Passengers will be encouraged to request rides when they enter the remote pickup area, rather than at the terminal. This is due to the close proximity between the West Cell Lot and the remote FHV lot.
